Sayonara Buzon, Annyeong Busan!

After the longest time, we are finally in Busan. We left John Saturday afternoon in Fukuoka to head to the Ferry by taxi. We arrived about an hour early and were told to wait for check in. About an hour later when we had filled our bellies on ice-cream and our minds on bad Japanese television, we walked to the check in desk and asked if they were ready for us. "Your boat is cancelled" !!!!!! Well lets just say, Laura started yelling, Evan looked miserable and I turned red with anger. :D So our 4pm boat had engine problems and that was the last boat of the day. They told us our options were to stay in a hotel and take a 1pm boat the following day (Today) or, after much complaining on our part, that they would fly us to Seoul on the next flight at 5:20pm. They made some sort of reservation for the plane at the airport to wait for us, but when we arrived, rushing, a group of Korean girls who were also supposed to be on the same boat as us were just being checked in. I guess they stole our reservations. We were livid. No fun at all. So we went back to the Ferry and they booked us a hotel about 30 minutes away annnnnd they put us on the 9am ferry for Sunday. The past day has been quite a challenge to keep our cool, but now that we've made it to Ana and Mike's house, we are feeling much much better :)
We got into Busan at 12pm and met up with Ana and Mike. There was a Rock Festival going on, on the beach so we checked that out and put our feet in the water for a bit. While watching some band on stage the video cameras that were filming for the footage being shown on the big screens next to the stage filmed the five of us several times! I guess they were amused to see Waeguk (foreigners) in the audience! We walked around Busan and enjoyed some ice cream and then got on the bus for Jinju. To top the day off, the electricity was out at the bus terminal but that didn't really effect our ride back. So now I am feeling a bit more at ease and looking forward to settling down for the last two weeks of our trip.
I can already see some differences between Korea and Japan. Our cab driver here was crazy. He was calling himself the best taxi driver and the most handsome. He also said that he was shocked that we were skinny, because American's are fat, which he demonstrated for us by stretching his arms out and pretending to waddle in his seat! I've also witnessed about three confrontations amongst people in the street, New York style which was somewhat heart warming. I don't think I heard anyone raising their voice in Japan. Anyways, today was super fun and it's totally gonna continue to be super fun cause we're with Ana and Mike!!!!!!!! Wheeeeee. Can't wait to do my laundry tomorrow...

xoxo
Linda

Pictures to come tomorrow morning, Korea time.
